The Hercules Series 800 lb Capacity Chair are the standard for most rental companies (at least that’s what you’ll find in the Bloomington Il, area). You’ll typically find them in black, white, gray, and brown, but outside of these few color options, they’re not too fancy. They get the job done, their lightweight, extremely durable, easy to move around and setup. Row after row of these chairs in bright white makes for a classic wedding ceremony setup, but if it’s more casual than black or gray will do nicely. And the best part, you can usually score these relatively cheap, you can rent folding chairs like this for less than a $2.00 each.
Contoured Plastic Folding Chair Rental
The contoured plastic chairs are a bit of an upgrade from the standard plastic folding chairs. Lifetime Products produces a high-quality polyethylene chair that features the wider curved seats and back supports. Although not all rental companies (especially here in Bloomington-Normal) carry these chairs, they can be found locally. White tends to be the only color option, but with the addition of chair covers, they fit quite nicely in a fancier setup. Your guest will appreciate the added comfort these chairs provide.
Wooden Folding Chair Rental
When people decide to rent folding chairs, the wooden folding chair is one of the most popular choices. They pre-date the plastic options so they have a more nostalgic quality about them. They come in a wide variety of colors, from natural wood finishes to high-gloss black. You’ll often see the classic white version in use at wedding ceremonies and receptions. The darker and natural finishes work well with rustic farm tables. Traditionally they’re a wooden frame with a vinyl padded seat. However, in recent years, they have become available in with plastic resin frames. I for one prefer the wood construction. The downside of these chairs is the lack of long-term comfort. But then again, maybe you don’t want your guest just sitting around for too long.
